What is FSSAI?
FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) is the apex food regulator. All food businesses must obtain FSSAI registration before operations under the FSS Act, 2006.
Types of FSSAI License
- Basic Registration: Turnover below ₹12 Lakhs — home bakers, small food stalls
- State License: Turnover ₹12 Lakhs to ₹20 Crores — restaurants, manufacturers
- Central License: Turnover above ₹20 Crores — large manufacturers, importers
